FULLERTON, Calif. – The Fullerton Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Presidents’ Business Achievement Awards where Joyce Capelle, CEO, Crittenton Services for Children and Families (CSCF) was named Chairman of the Board for the business chamber as of June 2013.

Four Fullerton businesses were also honored as meritorious professionals by the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce at this annual achievement awards celebration.

The Presidents’ Business Achievement Awards recognizes corporations and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the business, professional, and educational communities. The event also served as the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting, 2013-14 Board of Directors installation and the welcoming of Ms. Capelle, CEO, of CSCF.

“As a non-profit agency located in this community we are committed in supporting local endeavors, businesses, and contributing to the success of this wonderful city,” said Martha Jasso, Director of Communications, CSCF, “We applaud the selection of Ms. Capelle as Chair of the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce as CSCF knows she will do a wonderful job leading the chamber for 2013-2014.”

Members of the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors 2013-14 include: (L-R) Chair Joyce Capelle (CSCF), Vice Chair of Finance Andrew Carroll (CSCF Board Director), 1st Vice Chair Chris Reese, 2nd Vice Chair Jeannette Bartus, Member at Large Zina Gleason (CSCF Board Director), Pat Buttress, Member at Large Jim Pugliese, Sueling Chen, Past Chair Rhonda Shader, Tina Javid, Gizi Clemmer, Annette Magdaleno, Marty Burbank, Kenny Lim, Bert Reitz, Albert Napoli, Beverly Thomson, and Ted Kim.

Recognition was also given to the Small Business of the Year which was bestowed upon Redefining Divorce, owned by mediator Zina Gleason.

“We are also delighted to know that our very own Board of Director, Zina Gleason, for CSCF was given such an honor. She manages a business whose mission includes the advocacy of children involved in divorce and we couldn’t be prouder of Zina’s well earned accomplishments,” said Martha Jasso, Director of Communications, CSCF.

Small Business of the Year, Redefining Divorce, opened its doors in Fullerton in 2009 and joined the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce shortly after. Mediator and owner Zina Gleason makes it her mission to facilitate amicable divorces or separations, advocating for the welfare of any children involved, and ultimately reconciliation if possible.

When not assisting families, Ms. Gleason makes time to augment her business by mentoring at-risk students at Nicholas Junior High, Monday through Friday. Teacher Rachel Zarazoga shares, “I have never met someone like her. She is caring, knowledgeable, responsible, and truly willing to help anyone in need.”

In addition, this year’s Quality of Life Award went to, Woman’s Club of Fullerton, which was founded over a century ago, working for the welfare of children and senior citizens, creating networking opportunities, assisting other organizations in need, fundraising, and creating lasting friendships among its members. The organization has donated time, funding and talent in the Fullerton community which includes supporting our mission here at CSCF.
