Crittenton's Day of Beauty

Crittenton’s Annual Day of Beauty Event

The Annual Day of Beauty Event was held at the Crittenton Services for Children and Families (CSCF) Residential Services Treatment Center on September 7, 2013.

Each year an army of dedicated CSCF volunteers, community partners and long-time supporters create a day of empowerment and encouragement for CSCF Residential Services clients in need of mentorship and guidance.

“This yearly event has been established to focus on empowering young women to believe in themselves and to live up to our mission of helping troubled youth reach their full potential,” said Martha Jasso, Director of Communications, CSCF, and added, “Crittenton truly appreciates every volunteer and supporter who helps us every September in making this wonderful day come to life.”

The Crittenton Day of Beauty is a full day of pampering, mentorship, and building relationships that leads to the day’s main feature – the fashion show.

By 8:00 a.m., CSCF volunteers start to set-up and coordinate make-up, hair, manicure, and wardrobe fitting areas for the teenage girls to participate in.

With military precision CSCF volunteers work in unison to ensure that every girl goes through each beauty station, that each one of them feels cared for, and that they are ready for their early afternoon runway appearance.

From make-up lessons, wardrobe tips to body language coaching the girls engage with community members that take pride in helping them reach their treatment goals while at CSCF.

Among this year’s Crittenton Day of Beauty boots on the ground support and involvement included:

Elizabeth Elsenpeter, long-time CSCF volunteer, was in charge of coordinating the end of the day goodie bag giveaway. Ms. Elsenpeter made sure that each girl was given a bag, lotions, shampoos, make-up, hygiene products, hair accessories, and a stuffed animal in order for them to use throughout their stay at CSCF.
