Fullerton Senior Citizen Club with Non-Profit Executive Directors

Fullerton Senior Citizens Club present donations to Crittenton Services and WTLC.

Fullerton, Calif. – Two Fullerton based non-profits, Crittenton Services for Children and Families and WTLC, are awarded a generous donation from the Fullerton Senior Citizens Club during the club’s monthly meeting on August 20, 2015.

Each non-profit organization received a $1,000 donation from the Fullerton Senior Citizens Club destined to help fund much needed mental health or shelter services for clients who have experienced and are transitioning out of a domestic violence or a human trafficking situation.

Both the Fullerton Senior Citizens Club president Dennis Hittle and treasurer Geraldine (Gerry) Phillips presented the monetary donations to each non-profit executive officer.

“Crittenton Services and WTLC are honored to have been considered for and ultimately selected to receive this gesture of kindness. I’m sure that my counterpart at WTLC, Gigi Tsontos, can tell you that finding ways to fund quality mental health, residential treatment, and transitional living programming is not an easy thing to do and we are always appreciative of both donation and community support for our respective missions,” said Joyce Capelle, CEO, Crittenton Services.

The Fullerton Community Center confirms that the Fullerton Senior Citizens Club has a long-standing tradition of philanthropy, and that each year they interview and select two or three Fullerton based non-profits as award recipients.

The club has its own non-profit status, their own budget, and is considered an auxiliary group of the Fullerton Community Center and an esteemed community partner of both the center as well as the City of Fullerton.

“Fullerton residents have been supportive of both organizations throughout the years, and to hear that a group of committed citizens have made ‘giving back’ to the community a goal in their own organizational mission makes both Crittenton and WTLC feel as if we are not alone in the fight against the cycles of abuse, neglect and exploitation. On behalf of the children and families we serve we thank the Fullerton Senior Citizens Club not just for their donation, but rather for helping us show our clients that our local community does care about their success and well-being,” said Capelle.
